Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Audio Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be producing live audio for government meetings for broadcast television and web-streaming. The Engineer is responsible for mixing all live audio using a Soundcraft Vi3000 audio board.  This is a part-time position. Productions are 1-2 times a week. Monday 8 am- noon Tuesday, 7:30 am to the end of the show. Usually 4 pm, but can go as late as 8 pm. Overtime is paid for shifts going over 8 hours. The location is on-site in downtown Los Angeles. Near Grand and Temple. Applicants who feel they are a great match for this position should take the following steps to apply. • Submit an application via this platform. • Submit your resume and you  MUST include a cover letter addressed to our company. Please let us know that you read the entire job description and meet the qualifications and are not just spamming out your resume to the world. Any applications that do not include a cover letter addressed to Pegasus Studios will be ignored and deleted. • After sending your resume and cover letter, you MUST complete this questionnaire. NOTE: Ideal applicants for this position will have front-of-house, live mixing experience. This is not an ideal position for someone who has only worked in a podcast environment or does not have live production experience. We are not looking for people who are looking to break into the industry. Experience is required. This is a live, sometimes high-pressure situation where you need to be able to act fast and think on your feet. Applicants who only work in slower-paced recording studios will not be a good fit. Pay depends on experience. Broadcast experience is a plus. We are willing to pay a premium for individuals with expertise in broadcast audio production, BiAmp certification, and experience with Dante and Crestron interfaces. Responsibilities: • Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment. Properly mix live audio, remote sources, and videos for broadcast. • Technical Support: Provide timely equipment troubleshooting and reporting to our engineering team to ensure uninterrupted broadcasts. • Quality Assurance: Maintain equipment records, track issues, and uphold quality control standards for seamless broadcasting. • Collaboration: Thrive in a team-oriented environment, collaborating effectively with colleagues to further enhance the broadcast experience for staff members. • Communication: Demonstrate clear and concise communication skills with staff, maintaining a professional work environment and adhering to a professional dress code. Qualifications: • Must have expert-level knowledge and experience with Soundcraft products. Must be experienced operating a Soundcraft Vi3000. • Must have experience mixing live events. • Previous experience in audio production, broadcasting, live streaming audio/visual, and video production is essential. • Experienced with Biamp.  • Familiarity with broadcast equipment is helpful. Products such as Crestron control, production routers, switchers, and cameras. • Professionalism, solid transportation, punctuality, and a commitment to scheduled dates are non-negotiable attributes. Employees are expected to dress in a business friendly environment (show blacks is acceptable). • Must have knowledge of web streaming devices, encoders, and operations. • Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in broadcasting, television production, or a related field is preferred. About Company: Pegasus Studios began as a broadcasting company focused on providing quality video services to the public education and government sectors. Today, we work with a variety of clients, ranging from local government to commercial businesses throughout Southern California.
