Part-Time Dental Assistant

Mettens and Stewart Dental is an established Private Practice Dental Office with over 30 years of experience in Northern Kentucky and we are looking for a sterilization technician/dental assistant. We offer a wide range of procedures including implants and related surgeries, IV sedation, CEREC crown and bridge, endodontics and limited orthodontics. We want people at our office to enjoy the dental world and we would support any pursuit of expanding your knowledge, skillset and credentials. We use EagleSoft Practice Management Software.

Job brief

Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. Prior dental assisting experience especially  with IV Sedation, Phlebotomy, CEREC and/or 3D printing procedures are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers in the dental office
• Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
• Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
• Sterilize instruments according to regulations
• Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
• Schedule appointments
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures

Days and Hours:

• Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm
